My journey into yoga began in 2007. Having struggled with chronic back pain for years, I decided to try yoga in order to find relief. In a relatively short time my back pain had subsided and I became a dedicated yoga practitioner.
While training in 2010 I decided I would like to teach one day. This prompted a yearlong teacher training for my 200RYT. It was during that time I discovered yoga was not just a physical practice, but a timeless philosophy of mental and physical health. For me yoga is a way of life. It is this same strong determination that enabled me to quit my job to begin teaching yoga full time.
In July 2015, I completed my training to become a 500RYT, and am now certified in yoga therapy with over 1,500 hours of teaching experience.
In 2011, I learned about energy work during my yoga teacher training. It was at this time I decided that I would like to work with energy in yoga practices and my future classes. After receiving the necessary attunements from the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition for Reiki Level 1&2 August of 2011; I then went on to receive the necessary attunements from the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition for Reiki Level 3 & Master December of 2012.
Most of us begin yoga to help us physically, but that just the first step into the world of yoga. My goal is to keep learning and growing on this beautiful path I have chosen.
